Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Statement 2026
Introduction
FS Estonia OÜ (“FS Estonia”) is committed to responsible, ethical business and respect for human rights. We do not tolerate modern slavery, forced labour or human trafficking.
This statement describes the principles we follow and the measures we aim to implement in our operations and business relationships to prevent labour exploitation.
About FS Estonia
FS Estonia is an Estonian company providing construction and interior fit-out services, including ship interiors, modular home interiors, general construction, renovation and interior finishing.
We work with employees, subcontractors, suppliers and clients in Estonia and on international projects. We recognise that construction, cross-border recruitment and subcontracting chains may present risks of labour exploitation that need particular attention.
Our principles
Everyone working for or with FS Estonia must be treated with dignity and respect. We expect our partners to follow the same principles.
- Work must be voluntary. Forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking and unlawful child labour are unacceptable.
- Workers must receive clear information about their employment terms, pay, working hours and duties.
- Pay and working conditions must comply with applicable law and contractual agreements.
- Workers must retain control over their passports, identity documents and personal belongings.
- Recruitment must not involve coercion, deception or fees that place workers in debt or dependency.
- Workers must be free to end employment in accordance with applicable law and lawful notice periods.
- Working conditions must be safe and workers’ concerns taken seriously.
Recruitment and employment
FS Estonia follows the principles of fair recruitment and lawful employment, including where workers participate in projects abroad.
Our aim is to ensure workers understand their working arrangements and know whom to contact about pay, accommodation, travel or employment conditions.
Where we use recruiters, labour agencies or subcontractors, we expect them to follow the same principles. We do not knowingly work with organisations that exploit workers or restrict their freedom.
Suppliers and subcontractors
Our partners may include construction material and equipment suppliers, transport and accommodation providers, recruitment partners and subcontractors.
We expect partners to comply with applicable human rights, employment and occupational health and safety requirements. We also expect reasonable steps to prevent modern slavery in their operations and supply chains.
When selecting partners and evaluating cooperation, we aim to consider potential risks, with particular attention to recruitment practices, subcontracting arrangements and the origin of goods and services.
Where concerns arise, we seek clarification and, where needed, require corrective action. We may suspend or end cooperation in cases of serious breaches or where a partner fails to address identified problems.
Clients and project partners
FS Estonia aims to work with clients and project partners who share our commitment to ethical business.
We comply with employment, human rights and worker welfare requirements applicable to projects. We expect our partners to cooperate in ensuring safe, fair working conditions for everyone involved.
Reporting concerns
We encourage employees, subcontractors, suppliers and others to report suspected exploitation, coercion, withholding of wages, confiscation of identity documents or other signs of modern slavery.
You can contact FS Estonia management or email info@fsestonia.ee.
We are committed to handling reports sensitively and confidentially as far as possible. Anyone raising a concern in good faith must not be penalised or treated unfavourably.
Where a report indicates immediate danger or a possible crime, we seek assistance from the relevant authorities as needed.
Awareness and continuous improvement
Preventing modern slavery requires ongoing attention. We aim to raise awareness among our teams and partners, explain our expectations and address issues as they arise.
Our priorities are:
- Clear employment and recruitment terms.
- Attention to worker welfare on international projects.
- Evaluating cooperation with higher-risk suppliers and subcontractors.
- Making reporting channels known and accessible.
- Taking appropriate action when problems are identified.
Responsibility and review
FS Estonia management is responsible for implementing the principles described in this statement.
We are committed to reviewing this statement annually and improving our approach as the company develops and our understanding of labour exploitation risks grows.
